Aria Open Face Tournament Structure

Was at Aria this past weekend, saw they had a sheet with the information for the Open Face tournament they’re running. I’ll scan a copy of it and post it in the “Downloads” section, but here are the important details:

Royalties – They’re using the older version for Trips up top; 6s through Aces are still 1pt through 9pts, but Trips continue on the same scale as opposed to being worth 20 across the board – 222 is worth 10, 333 worth 11, all the way to Aces worth 22.

No points for trips in the middle. Back will use the 2/4/6/10/15/25 model, with Middle being double that.

Levels – Each level will last 8 hands; that means that levels will NOT go up based on a clock, instead they’ll go up after 8 hands at a table. It does bring up the question what if one table plays obscenely fast and another is playing insanely slow (even if there is a clock, let’s say that table is hitting the clock max each hand) and so you’re at a table that’s at Level 3 and then someone busts at your table and you’re moved to a Table that is at Level 6. I will try to ask what is going to happen in such a scenario.

One will start with 30k in chips. Level 1 will be 100/pt, Level 2 200/pt, then 300, 400, 500, 600, 800 (for Level 7), 1000 (for Level 8), 1500 (for Level 9), 2000 (for Level 10), 2500, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 (Level 15), 8000, 10,000, 15,000, 20,000, 25,000 (Level 20).
